About the project
The scheme for Almhouses was purpose designed for Girton Town Charity with the emphasis on the construction to Passivhaus standards. Consideration was made to enable the timber frame to be fabricated from sustainable sources. The target is to achieve BREEAM excellent and Ska being irrelevant as the project is residential. The mortar used is Natural Hydraulic Lime which has limited carbon exposure the reduction in cement use within the project is another key factor.
