Two projects submitted by Linden impressed the judges.
The Greyfriars Quarter development was designed by Stride Treglown. Paul Sellick acted as brickwork contractor and used bricks manufactured by Ibstock. The development demonstrated sensitive use of brick within the Gloucester city centre conservation area. The project blends perfectly into the surrounding area with the use of red bricks and deep precast brick-faced lintels of contrasting soldier courses. The judges were struck by ‘the arrangement of bonds and details, and the intricacy this brings to the development as a whole’.
Brick also plays a pivotal role in the expansive Wilshere Park development, which comprises 196 new residences. The development was designed by Linden Homes Chiltern. Landmark Brickwork acted as the brickwork contractor and used bricks manufactured by Ibstock. Each home takes advantage of new and existing green space within the development, designed to be sensitive to the rural setting
