LAST YEAR'S WINNER

Grangewood Brickwork Services Ltd brought to life the Newport Street Gallery, designed by Caruso St John, using Besoke clay bricks manufactured by Northcot Brick.

‘The completed building has brought work of considerable quality to an area in need of a visual upgrade. Working with the fabric of the existing buildings, additions have been designed with subtlety and executed with care. Clever use has been made of header and stretcher bond work at lower levels and both the interior and exterior brickwork to the three curved staircases is of high quality. The manner in which the precast stair rails have been incorporated into, and set flush with the inner walls of the stair is masterly. The craftsmanship is of a high order and the specialist bricklayer is to be congratulated’.
