An outstanding example of rejuvenated Victorian exuberance, the restoration work to this listed and scheduled ancient monument enthralled the judges. Intricate brick and terracotta details, particularly pilasters and mouldings, have been expertly reinstated where necessary, and in nearly every case it is very difficult to see the join. The cleaning of the brickwork has also been exemplary.
